Dallas Staycation

This past April, we spent a long weekend in Dallas for my birthday. We had an incredible time and I really wanted to share it with you all in case you have the opportunity one day!

All outfits, things we used, belle’s stuff, what we packed, everything is linked in my LTK which can be reached on this photo! Or you can go to LTK and follow me there as well!

It all started with a friend offering their season tickets to Mike when they learned that I was a HUGE STL Blues fan and that they would be playing the stars. When this happened and the game happend to be on April 13 we knew we had to make it an overnight. We decided, Why not make it a staycation and explore the city of Dallas a bit?

The game was the week after Easter so we decided to hang out with family a little longer and then Mike would go home and I would fly into Dallas the night before the game. This was because my best friend Bailey, was coming into town and she is getting married soon and we had a lot to get done.

I flew into Love Field on a Wednesday night and Mike and Belle were waiting for me. We took off for our hotel. We had a room at one of the nicer downtown holiday Inn’s for that night before taking off to a special hotel, mike booked for my birthday.

We had so much fun looking forward to this trip and too planning it. Unfortunately, we had so many trips and events going on I hadn’t spent much time getting to plan activities but thankfully the Lord provided and we didn’t need to. It felt like this long weekend, everything just fell into our lap and we were so blessed.

On the day of the Blues game, we packed up and headed out to what I finally knew was the Joule hotel. OH MY WORDDD!!! Mike spoils me way too much. It WAS A DREAM. Everything was perfect, elegant, convenient, people were kind, and we were so close to everything including a really nice dog park which was just the icing on the cake. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you have the chance to splurge on a night or two, GO FOR IT.

When we arrived they immediately greet you and ask what you would like out of your vehicle. We just said everything and I made sure to grab my bag with my medicine in it just to have. The three of us gave the keys to our car to them and headed up to check in. The check in process was quick and thoughtful making sure to go over all the amenities, perks, and events to pay attention too. We then headed up. We were on the seventh floor. I loved that when you got to the floors they were dimmed in the hallway and silent. It made for such a nice stay because their wasn’t any extra hallway noise.

Then we made it to the room… oh my….I was starstruck! It was so comfy and wonderfully set up. I loved it. We stayed in a King room. When you walked in we had a office in front of you that was secluded from the rest of the room. Then down the short hallway we had the sink and shower to your left and the bathroom, closet and full length mirror to your right. You continue straight and you have a big long desk that has your dry/ wet bar as well as glasses you may need and other extras. As you came around the sides you saw that that was the back of the bed and there was your king bed in all its glory looking out into the gorgeous windows. It was may favorite setup. I loved it. It was so elegant, modern, and fun. We loved it and so did Belle. We had a beautiful view and the bed was so comfy!

I changed into my proper day of blues attire and we went to grab something to eat. They have two restaurants in the hotel itself and wow again. My favorite will forever be CBD provisions, I ordered the turkey club and It was everything and more. The best sandwich ever! Mike had the burger and was saying the same things. We were blown away. The name still confuses us and we have asked many times but the consensus at the hotel is, it is just a name and doesn’t stand for anything. If you go, you HAVE to get the turkey club. Their bacon, onion, jam that they put on it is just unreal. Truly, we ended up eating there the majority of the time because it was just that good.

After, we took Belle to find a good place for her to use the restroom and we realized we were about two blocks from the nicest park for her to run and use the restroom as well as a doggie park which she enjoyed playing with some friends their. We walked around our hotel block and it was nice to just see what was all aorund us. We were basically back to back with the adolphus which is known for their french room, that serves high tea. That is on the list for next time! The joule is right across the street from the giant eyeball installation in Dallas which I found just so fun! When we got back they offered us ice waters as we walked in and one for belle. We went up to the room and prepped for the best night of our lives; going to a blues game of course!

It was a beautiful day and just such a fun experience getting to watch the Blues play. It had been a really long time for me so I was beyond thankful for the tickets. The Dallas Stars won but I had a great time regardless and it was nice to get to know the local team as well. We headed back to the hotel and knocked outttttt.

CBD provisions is where your room service comes from as well. They basically provide the food for the entire hotel, i.e. the spa, the pool, room service etc. They have a little italian place as well but i know this is crazy for me to say because of my deep love for italian food… it wasn’t my favorite.. but that’s just me. We loved the desserts at CBD as well so make sure you save room or sneak a late night room service order in!It was a dream, i mean really. We got room service for breakfast and yum. They do such a nice job with presentation and we the kindenss and care of serving. I ordered the steel cut oats, a side of berries and mike ordered the french toast. Then we also ordered a large french press. YUM! we were set perfectly for the day.

We decided that our Friday would be our recovery day. We spent all of Wednesday traveling and then Thursday we spent the day exploring and sitting in stadium seats so I really wanted Mike to have a nice spa experience. He had only had a handful of massages before and I knew this hotel would do a great job so I wanted to be sure we got a massage and it was SO WORTH IT. We had the best massage and then had access to their private pool, sauna, steam room, showers, all their amenities for the rest of the day. We even ordered lunch down there! it was amazing. We loved it and you can use these amenities without staying at the hotel. If you book a massage you have access to the spa amenities all day! It was just what we needed! After, we headed back to the room took belle for a walk and then fell asleep so hard. We ate dinner super late and it was so nice to be chill and not rushed.

Saturday, I really wanted to go to the Dallas farmers market to see what all the talk was about. It did not disappoint. Wow. It is a lot more permanent than what i was expecting in the sense that they have multiple buildings and stores have places that they are there all the time. They have different buildings that seemed to almost be different levels of businesses. So your more, new and smaller business had the open air building with booths set up. It was wonderful regardless and we had so much fun. I ended up running into this little boutique where I was able to meet the designer and ended up buying a few of her actual designs. It was such a neat experience!

After being out walking we were getting rather hot so we figured we would go for dip in their pool. The Joule hotel has a pool on the tenth floor that is clear on the edge so those walking can see up and around it. It is so neat. However, when we got up there the wind was so strong we were freez. ing! I did jump in just to say I did it but it took me a good 10 minutes to stop shivering haha. worth it. We went back to the room and guess what…. NAPPED AGAIN because we were tired from the world. We then had a super late dinner and snuck off to the hotel’s speakeasy called the midnight Rammbler. That was such a fun experience! We ended up staying longer than we expected and it was just so cool.

I can’t recommend this hotel and experience enough! It was so fun! let me know if you have stayed here or are planning on staying!
