Event Planning

I discovered something new about myself. I think it’s really cool when you get to a point where you are confident in who you are and God reminds you how unique and special you are. It’s humbling. Only 26 and God has so much planned. Anyways, event planning… I love it.

Growing up, I remember enjoying planning birthday parties mine or more exciting, a friends. I loved the joy that they would feel. The concept of someone planning a party for you with your favorite things makes you feel so loved & that is my favorite thing to do. I love gift giving. It’s my favorite and if I could spend all my money on it I would.. you can ask Mike!

I never thought anything more than just that, I liked giving gifts. I like to make people feel special. Short of 2 years ago I found out my best friend was pregnant. I was already married at the time but I officially felt like an adult because my best friend was having a baby and I’m the one who traditionally would throw the baby shower. At this age, or at certain points, you have responsibilities like throwing the bridal, wedding, baby shower. That is exactly what I got to do… throw Bailey her dream baby shower. I was so excited.

Having the opportunity to throw a baby shower is such a sweet event and extremely fun to plan for. Everything is just adorable, soft, and joyful. My best friend Bailey likes to have things done well and she wants all the rainbows and unicorns possible so I knew brainstorming had to start immediately.

I spent a lot of time praying and thinking on what would be a great theme that would represent her and the sweet little girl we were waiting for; Which is when I got it, “we can bearly wait”. Earlier on in Bailey’s pregnancy there was a not so great experience that she had with a doctor where she called our precious baby livi, a gummy bear, with a tone of so its not a big deal and shoe doesn’t really matter, instead of allowing it to upset us we accepted it and could Bearly wait to meet our girl! I went all out on teddy bears, pink, sparkles, all of it. Girly girl Heaven!

I can honestly say this was one of the best days of my life. I loved getting to Create a space that never existed and will never exist that way again. It’s a moment in time.

Just like my wedding, I knew every touch & company had to have a connection. It was essential.

For Bailey, I wanted to use a venue that had meaning. We were able to use a venue called Restore Decor which was an organization that helped me pay for my significant health issues and Bailey was a part of all the planning the whole way. I loved having that meaningful attachement to circle around to.

The next thing I knew was most important was the guest list. We made sure that anyone who has ever stood by her, prayed over her, loved on her was there but I knew no matter what we would be missing the most important people. Her grandparents. I know that every joyful moment in Bailey’s life reminds her of how much she wishes her grandparents were there and so pink carnations are the flower that represent them to her. I had them placed all over the room So she could feel their presence wherever she was.

I also felt bad that her fiancé was unable to take the time off to fly out to illinois. Having him unable to stop by I made sure that he made a video that I could play for her as a surprise. That could not have gone better. It was so beyond special and a wonderful surprise. This day brought me so much joy. There truly is nothing like celebrating your best friend. I can’t wait to plan more events in the future. Please reach out if you need any help planning an event or need an event planner let me know!
