Cleaning Tips & Tricks Pt. 2
When was the last time you cleaned out your coffee pot? I mean hand washed the entire coffee pot & all of the pieces that go with it?
When was the last time you dusted the baseboards? When was the last time you washed the outside of your windows? How about the last time you cleaned your washing machine? Have you cleaned your dishwasher recently? Have you deep cleaned your kitchen sink & disposal?
These are things that people put on the back burner. It’s the deep cleaning that takes a minute and therefore, usually is forgotten about, amongst everything else there is to do.
Ironically, I have discovered that this is something that I can keep up with. On days when I feel like I can’t do anything or do much; I take on one of these tasks. These cleaning tasks are ones that no one thinks or wants to do and therefore, people are always thankful when this is done. People know how important it is to make sure these things are clean but they dread doing it. When your partner, roommate, family finds out that you did one of these tasks they will be so thankful and you were able to use your little energy for good.
When was the last time that anyone cleaned the baseboards in your house? How about the ceiling fans? This is the next item I love to do that is a project I know will make everyone happy and is something I can achieve simply. I have tools that make this more manageable so I don’t have to bed down the entire time I can simply stand and brush it off.
Another trick is sometimes your spouse is going to have busier weeks than normal. This means that they may have a hard time completing their usual tasks. The may have even said multiple times, “I need to get the lawn mowed”. They aren’t lying to you. They are making a mental list out loud in hopes it will help them complete it but time is simply not allowing it. I also, do what I can to be the one that manages the phone calls, doctor appt sceduling for us both all of those. It is these times that if you can, without causing extra harm to yourself or others, step in and cover it for them. It doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to be checked off so they can focus on the next thing.
Do not let this list overwhelm you especially because many of these projects do not need to be done daily. Also, like I said people will appreciate that someone is handling the projects that they haven’t had time to get too. I hope this is helpful for you guys!
Let me know what you think in the comments!
