20 Life lessons in a decade
The 20 Best Life Lessons; I have learned in the Last Decade of Battle.
There is no such thing as “I should feel this way” don’t listen to the “should’s” in your mind. Feel how you feel.
You are not unreliable; your disease is.
Life is unpredictable and unfair. However, we live for a God who is almighty, all- knowing, and rules with his righteous right hand.
Assess, adapt, and overcome
You aren’t high maintenance or expensive; healthcare is.
Boundaries are meant for everyone; family isn’t exempt.
Communication is everything and saying how you are feeling right away will truly change how your relationships form and last.
A spouse should be your true partner and best friend. Ready to pick up the pieces as we rotate caring for another.
If they want to; they will
Trust people when they show you who they are the first time.
Your worth is not defined by worldly measurements but by who Christ say you are.
Enjoy every moment with your loved ones so you never take it for granted.
Over the past decade, there have been numerous valuable life lessons that have shaped and influenced me into who I am today. I want to share everything I have learned for the simple reason that maybe it impacts one other persons life.
Change is never going to stop. Being able to acknowledge this and hold the same truths that will stay with you through any situation. For example, I placed Christ on the throne of my heart, I prioritize my marriage, as well as work to grow my family even if it looks nothing like I expect. That is why I have Jesus in my life.
Learning to let go. Learning to follow Christ through it all which means no longer; white knuckling my health, my family, and my concerns. You are the almighty, you can handle it all, giving this to you to lead was the best decision I have ever made.
Learning to accept who I am in my heart in Christ and how that is the most important part of it all.
let go of things that arent serving you. I know it hurts but if you have surrendered your life to christ then there is a plan.
The journey of self-improvement and lifelong learning is vital. Investing in learning new skills, challenging oneself, and seeking growth opportunities is essential.
Dont race. Dont race through life because the finish line will come before you know it. Instead, soak in each and every moment.
Surround yourself with friends that reflect the same qualities you want to grow in yourself as well as the qualities you want to grow stronger. the people you spend the most time with, inevitably, will have the largest affect on your life.
Reflecting on these life lessons from the past decade can provide insight and guidance for the future, helping me to navigate challenges, foster personal growth, and cultivate a fulfilling life.
